Call for Papers: Gerrymander Standard Writing Competition

For the second year, Common Cause is sponsoring the Gerrymander Standard Writing Competition, a contest in which lawyers, social scientists, and others are invited to submit academic papers proposing a new definition for partisan gerrymandering that can be used in court to challenge unfair and undemocratic redistricting plan. Winners will receive prize money, publication in an academic journal, and free travel to present their papers at a national redistricting reform symposium.

The submission deadline is March 27, 2016.

Winning Authors Receive:

Prize money: 1st place: $5,000, 2nd place: $3,000, 3rd place: $2,000
Publication in a leading academic journal
Payment of travel expenses to present papers at a national redistricting reform symposium
