Lectures

University of Washington (UW) School of Law

University of Washington School of Law
Students at the International Human Rights Clinic at the University of Washington School of Law will present today as part of the last Global Mondays Lecture of the year. Members of the clinic will introduce the audience to their work with high-profile international human rights cases and projects. From the struggles of indigenous communities in Mexico, to the documentation of conditions at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, to the arbitrary detention of US citizens in Iran, to labor trafficking in the global supply chain, respect for human rights fuels students’ research on such issues and drives passionate support for those globally silenced. By giving voice to local and universal concerns, the students not only learn the instruments of human rights lawyering, but also help reclaim the value of human life against tremendous odds. Please join the associates of the International Human Rights Clinic to learn more about their work that takes them beyond national borders and onto the whirlwind of the international stage.
