CFP: Challenges of Urbanization and Development in Africa in the Context of Climate Change – Arusha, Tanzania

The Centre for Climate Change Studies (CCCS) of the University of Dar es Salaam is organizing the Challenges of Urbanization and Development in Africa in the Context of Climate Change July 24-26, 2013. 

Deadline for Abstracts: May 3, 2013 to be eligible for consideration. Submit 300-word (maximum) abstracts electronically to the Conference Secretariat at cccs[@]udsm.ac.tz, with a copy to msaru5[@]yahoo.co.uk. Abstracts will also be accepted by mail at: P. O. Box 33453, Dar es Salaam – Tanzania.

The conference will address the following: Challenges and Opportunities of a Rapidly Urbanizing Africa; Changing Urban Environments; Climate Change, Disasters and Urban Resilience; and Urban Planning & Development in a Changing Climate. Conference “participants are expected to address opportunities and/or challenges with regards to policy and legal frameworks in the context of their work and to provide practical solutions/interventions that will serve to enlighten people’s understanding on the theme presented.” im
