The Saint Louis University Public Law Review invites the submission of article abstracts relating to its Spring 2010 symposium theme: Voting 45 Years After the Voting Rights Act.
The symposium, which will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010, will consist of three round-table panel discussions examining the Voting Rights Act, with emphasis on the implementation of the Act and possible future legislation amending the act or creating new legislation. The Society of Legal Scholars Annual Seminar 2009, Judges and Jurists: Reflections on the House of Lords, will take place Nov. 5-6, 2009, at the Law Society’s Hall in London. Itl marks two events in 2009: the Centenary of the Society of Legal Scholars, and the transition from the House of Lords to the new United Kingdom Supreme Court. There will be a range of reflections on judicial reasoning and the interaction between judges, academics and the professions over a century of transformation. It is being organised by Birmingham Law School (although it is taking place in London).
There is an early booking discount on bookings made before the end of Friday, Sept. 18, 2009.

The 2009 Kansas Law Review Symposium, “Aggregate Justice: Perspectives Ten Years After Amchem and Ortiz,” will take place Oct. 30, 2009. The Symposium will examine developments in aggregate litigation over the last decade and into the future, using Amchem Prods. Inc. v. Windsor, 521 U.S. 591 (1997), and Ortiz v. Fibreboard Corp., 527 U.S. 815 (1999), as a springboard for this exploration.
The Symposium will feature a number of well-known speakers in the field of aggregate litigation: Elizabeth Chamblee Burch (Florida State); Howard M. Erichson (Fordham); Steven S. Gensler (Oklahoma); Laura J. Hines (Kansas); Linda S. Mullenix (Texas); Tom Willging (Federal Judicial Center); Patrick Woolley (Texas).
