The American Antitrust Institute is meeting June 18-19 to focus on antitrust policy of the next administration. We posted here a few weeks ago. Now we’re sharing a press release we just got from AAI….

 AMERICAN ANTITRUST INSTITUTE’S ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON JUNE 18-19 TO
                   FOCUS ON ANTITRUST POLICY OF THE NEXT ADMINISTRATION

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Antitrust experts from the government and legal and academic communities will gather in Washington on June 18 and 19 for the American Antitrust Institute’s 9th annual conference “The Next Antitrust Agenda.”

During the conference, the AAI will present its Transition Report on Competition Policy for the next Administration. The report will articulate provide the next Administration with specific suggestions for enforcement priorities. Panels will present and debate the recommendations of 11 different chapters including policy suggestions on:

·  The Department of Justice

·  The Federal Trade Commission

·  Merger Enforcement

·  Private Enforcement of Antitrust Laws

·  Monopolization, Exclusion and Intrabrand Distribution Restraints

·  Energy

·  Agriculture

·  Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals

·  Media and Media Consolidation

·  Buyer Power

In addition, the conference will include two award luncheons. On June 18 at noon, 58-year DOJ veteran Bernie Hollander will receive the Civil Servant Award from John Nannes.  On June 19 at 12:30, Morgan Lewis’ John H. Shenefield will receive the Antitrust Achievement Award from former FTC Chairman Robert Pitofsky and former ABA Antitrust Section Chair Donald Klawiter.
